Wonder Woman, where did you go?

A little over a year ago I wobbled off the treadmill at Black Dog Institute having just walked 50km dressed as Wonder Woman. Chaffed in places I didn’t know I had, feet red raw, I wrapped up the live broadcast with an awkwardly teary goodbye (click here to watch a grown man dressed as Wonder Woman cry) and collapsed.

I wanted to report back and let you know we raised a whopping $10,393 for Black Dog Institute! These funds have helped vital mental health initiatives such as The Essential Network that was launched during COVID to help our health care workers find resources and support to manage burnout and maintain good mental health.

Apologies it took me so long to report back on the impact we made. 2020 happened and I think like most people, I just tried to hang on and survive! I’m sincerely grateful for everyone’s support in achieving this amazing result.

The Superhero Playground (I just love the name 😊) is a hit with the kids and I recently had the pleasure of attending the official opening with our local MP, Michael Daley.

It’s such a great playground with expansive natural, free play areas designed to stimulate creativity and connection to nature. It was originally meant to just be for the little kids but it’s so popular they now have a roster system, so all the kids get a turn.

All of this is only possible with your support and I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU!

As winter arrives, I’ve turned my gaze to the 2021 Superhero Walk which I’ll be telling you more about in early July. When I explained the idea to a colleague, she said “I’m not sure that’s a good idea or even possible”. So, I know I’m on the right track.

Thanks to each and every one of you who has supported me over the years. Here’s to the crazy ones!

Regards

Tas
