Randwick Council Mayor’s Award and 2022 sabbatical
Recently I was deeply honoured to be awarded Randwick Council’s Australia Day Mayor’s Award for 2022.
It was such a surprise; I’d never dreamed of receiving an award for dressing up as Superheroes! The Superhero Walk is all about the little guys, the battlers, the scrappers, the Australians doing it tough you might not have heard about. And of course, the wonderfully kind and generous people like you who have supported me over the years.
I was away for the ceremony in January so Randwick Council’s Mayor, Dylan Parker, was kind enough to invite me to afternoon tea to officially receive the award.
It was a real insight to spend some time with Mayor Parker and hear about all the incredible people we have in our community helping others.
I also wanted to let you know I recently turned 50 and with that, I thought I might take a little sabbatical from the Superhero Walk for 2022. There are parties to be thrown and a big family adventure years in the making.
I’ve got like a gazillion ideas for 2023 but as always, if there’s a charity or cause you think needs a superhero, send me an e-mail.
